SEO Techniques for 2017

SEO is a continuous process. So, one techniques that you need to use are - Consistency and Persistence
Coming to activities; SEO is a mix of various activities. With new algorithm updates and involvement of AI, it’s getting more and more user centric.
There is no one single activity that can help you ace the SEO game. On the face of it, A well oiled SEO strategy includes:
  • On-page SEO Optimization
  • Link Building Strategy
  • Optimizing for Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP)
  • User Experience Optimization (UEO)
  • Optimizing for Voice Search
1)On-Page SEO Optimization
It is one of the oldest SEO techniques and still most of the businesses (New and existing ones) fail to tick the box correctly.
One of the reasons I see is: there are so many ‘on page ranking factors’ (Overall, Google Considers 200+ factors in ranking) and people get confuse on which one to optimize for.
Here is post listing all the “On-page Search Engine Ranking Factors” with the explanation on how much each factor affect.
2)Link Building Strategy
From spamming other posts in comments to using high-quality content to build backlink, SEO has come a long way.Link building is important, but I’ll put in efforts to build a solid content strategy first. My definition of a solid content strategy includes:
Planned Content Calendar
Content Calendar??
But, won’t it suppress my creativity??
It is one of the reasons bloggers give when asking about a content calendar. In fact, I also used to resonance with this. But, not anymore.
A well-planned content calendar allows bloggers to be more creative as you have a topic ready to think on. But, creating a content calendar is not easy. Bloggers struggle with how to come up with new blog post ideas for your blog.
The reality is, it is not as tough as it appears.
One of all time hot blog topic idea is – Blog posts around pain points. Social media can be another great way to generate ideas for your blog post. Here is a quick example:
Here is a great guide on how to come up with great content ideas.

Consistent Blogging Schedule
Blogging frequency has always been a controversial topic. No one has a concrete answer to the question – How often should you publish a new post on your blog?
From my previous experience, I learned that consistency is a key to a blog success. According to a report by HubSpot, Companies doing 16+ posts a month get 3.5 times the more organic traffic.
So, deciding a frequency is crucial for a new blog. But, at the same time, you should not compromise on quality. (2 quality posts a month will get you more visitors and readership than 5 filler posts).
Consistent blogging means:
  • Regular update on your site. Means it is not a dead property in the eyes of Search Engines
  • More content, more opportunities to rank in Search Engines
Comprehensive Content Promotion
Let’s be honest. Getting initial exposure is key to your blog success.
New blogs don’t easily rank as they don’t have backlinks. They don’t get shares because they don’t have readers.
Having high-quality content is only 50% of the task done. If you can’t get it in the front of users, it’s a waste of efforts.
You don’t need to be at all the places. Pick-up the relevant social channels, user communities, related blog posts, and 3rd party forums. Get in front of your audience and influencer of your niche.
And, trust me, in this process, you build some high authority backlinks as well.
3) Optimizing for Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMPs)
Just having a site optimized for mobile will not be enough in 2017. Search engines (mainly Google) expect brands to go one step ahead and use ‘Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMPs).’ It is a way to build web pages for static content that render fast.
According to Accelerated Mobile Pages Project, AMP in action consists of three different parts:
  • AMP HTML is HTML with some restrictions for reliable performance and some extensions for building rich content beyond basic HTML.
  • The AMP JS library ensur...
